Walnut
Walnut is one of the most coveted hardwoods in woodworking. It is a medium density hardwood with generally coarse textured grain that can produce distinctive grain patterns. The sapwood is creamy white, while the heartwood is light brown to dark chocolate brown, occasionally with a purplish cast and darker streaks. This results in a considerable amount of color variation. Walnut is also very susceptible to light, which means it will change in color tone relatively quickly as it is exposed to light. Be sure to view a recently made Walnut sample before making your final selection.
